Coxing at EUBC
Coxes at Exeter are no different to our high-performance rowers, they are relied upon daily by our athletes and coaches and are key members within the club. Coxes are involved at every water session at The Nicholas Bull Boathouse and have the same access to the erg, s&c, pilates and cardio programme as every other rower.
The novice coxing programme gives you the opportunity to develop alongside more experienced coxes and train and compete as a member of one of the largest mixed sports at the university in one of the top university rowing programmes.
Coxes with previous experience will be integrated straight into the senior squad and have the chance to cox our top boats at HORR, WEHORR, BUCS, Henley Women's Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta.
EUBC's coxing programme is a fast track to compete at the highest level of university sport with every novice and senior cox given the opportunity to race at BUCS, HWR, HRR and more.
This year we had 11 coxed boats racing at BUCS 2021 with both the 8+ and 4+ then prequalifying for Henley Royal Regatta. At Henley Royal Regatta 2019 both Exeter coxes raced having learnt to cox on our novice programme.
